What We’re Working on This Summer

Hello everyone,

While many teams take a break over the summer holidays, at Peregrine Racing we see this as the perfect time to focus on what matters most. As a STEM Racing team, we’re using these months to design smarter, test more effectively and get organised for the challenges ahead.

We may not be building the car just yet, but there’s a lot happening behind the scenes. Here’s what we’re working on this summer:

Creating New Car Designs

One of our main goals is to develop new car concepts directly in CAD. We’re experimenting with different shapes, refining wing profiles, and searching for ways to reduce drag and boost aerodynamic efficiency. Every design decision is tested, reviewed, and refined, combining engineering precision with creativity and continuous improvement.

Our Initial Car Design

Testing on SimScale

With support from our sponsor SimScale, we’re running advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations on each new design. This allows us to see exactly how air flows around the car, understand the impact of small changes, and make informed design choices based on real data. Testing virtually means we can improve our concepts before physical production even begins.

Updating Our Engineering Portfolio

We’re also refining our engineering portfolio - the document that tells the story of our design process, technical decisions, and performance improvements. This summer, we’re focusing on clearer explanations, stronger visuals, and a layout that truly reflects the thought and effort behind our work.

Reaching Out to Sponsors

We’re actively connecting with sponsors who share our passion for STEM and innovation. Sponsorship enables us to keep improving and gives us access to tools and resources that make a real difference.
